Snellville, GA – When the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer begins Saturday, October 5th at 6 am, the walkers will be led by a distinctive pink 2013 Ford Mustang Convertible. This unique pace car, covered with a pink It’s The Journey, Inc custom wrap, is provided by Five Star Ford Stone Mountain, an Atlanta-area dealership based in Snellville.

It’s The Journey, Inc was founded by Randi Passoff, a breast cancer survivor. She was inspired by similar walks to create the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer, which in 2013 will be celebrating its 11th year. Participants raise money to meet a required goal, and have the option of walking Saturday, Sunday, or both. Saturday’s walk is 20 miles from Atlanta to Agnes Scott College in Decatur and back, and Sunday is a 10 mile walk, making the completed event 30 miles.

Five Star Ford Stone Mountain is proud to participate in this year’s event and to support the women and men afflicted by this terrible disease. According to General Manager Wes Pope, “The entire team is excited to participate in the Atlanta 2 Day Walk for Breast Cancer. With so many staff, family and friends directly impacted by cancer – it’s the right thing to do.  It is just our small contribution to the bigger picture.”

All of the donations collected by walk participants are kept in the state of Georgia. Last March, It’s The Journey awarded over half a million dollars to 19 Georgia-based breast cancer programs.
