Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition Debuts at Frankfurt

Jeep Wrangler Polar EditionA special-edition model of the Jeep Wrangler made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week: the Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition, which takes the adventurous soul and the all-wheel drive capabilities of the fabled Jeep Wrangler and combines them with the spirit and thrill of the winter.

We say “thrill” because the Wrangler isn’t just a car to sit in a background of snowmen and flying snowballs. On the side of the vehicle is a badge that displays the coordinates of Vostok, Antarctica, where the absolute lowest temperature in the world was recorded at -89.2°C (-128.56° F). Additionally, the Polar’s unique styling cues and distinctive interior details are reminiscent of the Antarctic region. The message is clear: the Wrangler Polar will conquer the harshest, coldest weathers—even where it’s winter all-year-round.

But the Polar has more than just flair. It’s equipped with a powerful Dana 30 front axle and an even more powerful Dana 44 rear axle, along with a special torque-sensitive Trac-Lok anti-spin rear differential that works to preserve traction when traveling on slippery or rough road surfaces. It can definitely walk the walk.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg of what Jeep has in store for Wrangler Polar buyers. We’ll give you the latest details as they arrive.
