Stanley Ford Brown Bear Classic Benefits Kenai River Brown Bears

KENAI, Alaska—On Sunday, July 14th, 2013, Stanley Ford will host the Stanley Ford Brown Bear Classic golf tournament at the Kenai Golf Course, located at 1420 Lawton Drive in Kenai, Alaska. The golf tournament benefits local non-profit hockey organization, the Kenai River Brown Bears.

The Kenai River Brown Bears are a Tier II Junior A ice hockey team that plays in the North American Hockey League’s West Division. The team, based out of Soldotna, Alaska, dedicates time and money to provide both athletic and academic opportunities to students in the area, as part of the Kenai Peninsula Youth Foundation. Through this organization, students can participate in community activities that develop athletic skills and offer youth mentoring, such as reading programs.

Golfers interested in participating in the Stanley Ford Brown Bear Classic may register by visiting or in person at the Kenai Golf Course. The cost for individual players is $100; four-person teams can register for $350. Golfers can sign in on the day of the event at 8:00 a.m. and the tournament will begin shortly after at 9:00 a.m.

Stanley Ford has donated a 2012 Ford F350 Diesel as part of the competition. A golfer to sink a hole-in-one during the tournament will drive away in the all-terrain Ford truck.
